Fire outbreak razes down Jos terminus market

Business owner from different ethnic divide on Saturday July 21st, 2018 in Jos, the Plateau State capital, broke down in tears following a fire outbreak which razed the popular Terminus Market.

The market which is mostly populated by Igbo businessmen and women was said to have been destroyed some years ago following a bomb explosion which was allegedly linked with the dreaded Islamic sect, Boko Haram.
The latest fire incident which was said to have started Friday night, witnessed several warehouses and shops burnt to ashes.

Matthias Tyopev, Plateau State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, confirmed the fire incident in an interview affirming, “Yes, there was a fire incident at the popular Terminus market in Jos. Goods and warehouses were destroyed. The Plateau State Commissioner of Police, Undie Adie, and chairman of Jos North Local Government Area were there to ascertain the level of damage.
“You will get the details from me later”, he said.

The PPRO, further said, “For now, we can’t estimate the total amount lost because of the fire because so many people were involved, the money lost unquantifiable because the fire incident was very severe”.
As at the time of filing this news report, the worth of goods, properties and cash destroyed in the inferno could not be ascertained.
