Igwe Oranu Chidume of Omor Kingdom in Ayamelum Local Government Area of Anambra, has commended Governor Willie Obiano as Anambra International cargo/passenger airport commenced flight operations on Tuesday.
The traditional ruler told newsmen in Ayamelum in Anambra, that the airport would impact positively on the economic development of the state and the Southeast region as a whole.
It would be recalled that Air Peace, confirmed it would begin scheduled flights into Anambra on Tuesday following approval of the Anambra International Cargo and Passenger Airport by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority.
The traditional ruler said the people of Anambra were full of excitement and joy as a result of the new airport.
He described Obiano as a serial achiever for the notable landmark projects he carried out in the state.
“There is excitement and joy in the air over the airport. The people can now fly to Lagos and Abuja from the state and this will boost the economic viability of the state.
“To crown it all, Gov. Obiano bequeathed to Anambra people a resourceful person, in the person of Prof. Charles Soludo, as the next executive governor and his successor.
“This is the greatest gift he has given the people,” the traditional ruler said.
He described Soludo as a prudent, intelligent, resourceful and international figure, who would take the Anambra economy to eldorado.
He advised the governor-elect to run a government with professionals ready to hit the ground running with policies that would transform the economic viability of the state to abundance of wealth.
The traditional ruler also pledged his overwhelming support for the government of the state.
