Amid fresh allegations of sextortion and cyberbullying that led to his recent arrest by the EFCC, it has emerged that Dr. Aondona Mkor, a Special Adviser to the Benue State Governor, has previously faced similar accusations.

Back in September 2018, Mkor—then a lecturer in the Political Science Department of Benue State University (BSU), Makurdi—was reportedly dismissed by the university following a rape scandal involving a female student.

According to a report by Lasgidi Online, a disciplinary committee set up by the institution found Mkor guilty of the rape allegations, leading to his immediate sack. The incident generated public outrage at the time, particularly among students and women’s rights groups.

Notably, Mkor did not issue a public response to the university’s decision, despite being known then for his frequent social media posts in support of the Governor Samuel Ortom-led administration.

The 2018 incident is now resurfacing in light of his recent arrest by the EFCC over alleged abuse of power, blackmail, and the unauthorized circulation of explicit materials involving female students.

Observers say the latest developments paint a disturbing pattern of behavior and raise serious questions about how Mkor returned to public office despite his controversial past.
