FUHSO: Senator Abba Moro congratulates pioneer students on matriculation, hails Ujah, others

The Senator representing Benue South Senatorial District, Comrade Abba Moro, has congratulated the Vice Chancellor, Management, Staff and students of Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo (FUHSO) on the school’s first matriculation exercise on Friday.

Senator Moro, who was billed to attend the event but could not make it because of the ongoing budget defense at the National Assembly, said he was elated and happy to see that the school has formally and successfully taken off, with the students’ matriculation.

The Senator praised the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Innocent Ujah, and the management staff for their determination and courage to kick off the school amidst the teething challenges at this formative stage.

His words, “Prof. Ujah and his team have shown capacity and competence in the manner they have been able to manage challenges and kicked off the school. They have done noble and I congratulate them. I want to assure the school of my total support at all times, It’s our collective project.”

The Senator charged the students to fully utilize the opportunity given to them by the University and come out to be assets to not just their families but the nation at large.

In his words, “As pioneer students, they cannot afford to disappoint their parents and the society that have given them this rare opportunity. They must always be found worthy in character and learning so that they can be role models for those coming after them.

“I want to sincerely congratulate all of them and wish them the very best.”

The Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo (FUHSO), the first of its kind in Nigeria, is a world class specialized University that will train and produce high quality healthcare professionals that will contribute to the development of the health sector in the country and the world at large.

The Bill seeking the establishment of the University, sponsored by Senator Moro in the 9th Assembly, was passed into law by the Senate on the 29th of June, 2021.
