Germany has announced the commencement of applications for its scholarship scheme aimed at graduates and postgraduate students from Sub-Saharan Africa, creating fresh pathways for higher education and research overseas.

The announcement was made via an official post on X on Friday, where the country highlighted the initiative as part of its broader efforts to promote global academic collaboration.

“DAAD scholarships are now available for graduates and postgraduates in Sub-Saharan Africa. See flier for more information and send in your applications. The deadline is 29 April 2026,” the statement read.

Prospective applicants have been encouraged to carefully review the information provided in the official flier, which outlines eligibility criteria, participating institutions, and the application process.

“Applicants are advised to read all guidelines thoroughly and ensure that complete documents are submitted,” the post added.

The organisers also emphasized strict adherence to the application timeline, noting that submissions received after the deadline will not be considered.

“The deadline for applications is 29 April 2026. We encourage candidates to apply well ahead of time,” it stated.

Germany further pointed out that the programme is highly competitive, drawing applicants from across the region who are eager to advance their academic and professional careers.

“We are committed to strengthening global academic exchange and supporting future leaders through education,” it said.

Eligible candidates across Sub-Saharan Africa are therefore advised to begin preparations early and submit their applications before the closing date.
