President of the United States, Joe Biden, has again taken another major step that favour Nigerians and others.

This is as the newly elected President recently overturned a Donald Trump declaration that blocked many green card applicants (including Nigerians) from entering the United States.

It comes after President Biden had on his first day in office, erased a number of Trump’s orders, including the travel ban on Nigerians and others.

Trump had during the signing of the controversial ban, the Presidential Proclamation 100014, said it was to protect jobs due to high unemployment rates caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The proclamation by Trump was to expire on March 31, 2021.

But, the White House announced in a recent statement, that President Biden had overturned the decree through an executive order.
It said Trump’s ban separated families and does not advance the interests of the U.S.

“It harms the United States, including by preventing certain family members of United States citizens and lawful permanent residents from joining their families here,” the statement reads.
