Chelsea boss, Thomas Tuchel, has reacted to Edouard Mendy’s howler  that gifted Leeds United their first goal before scoring two more in the English Premier League game between both sides.

Leeds United defeated Chelsea by 3-0 at Elland Road on Sunday afternoon to inflict first defeat of the season on Chelsea.

Goals from Brenden Aaronson, Rodrigo Moreno and Jack Harrison gave Leeds the victory over Chelsea.

During the encounter, Brenden Aaronson capitalised on an awful Edouard Mendy mistake and Rodrigo headed in from a free-kick, while Koulibaly got a second-half red card.

In the post match conference, Tuchel expressed disappointment in Mendy’s performance especially the howler that led to the first goal.

He said “He knows himself. With these kinds of mistakes, we don’t have to speak a lot. It’s a huge mistake at a crucial time in the match. It does not help and he’s the one who is most disappointed.”

Tuchel also commented on defender Kalidou Koulibaly’s red card against Leeds.

Asked if Koulibaly’s red card was fair, Tuchel added, “We cannot get frustrated in Premier League games. It should be pure joy to play in an atmosphere like this.”

Chelsea have won one  drawn one and lost one in their first three games of the current campaign.
