Hebert Wigwe built private grave before his death
In what appears almost prescient of his future, Dr. Herbert Wigwe had already constructed a magnificent private mausoleum for himself. Nestled within the expansive grounds of the University environment, the tomb stands as a testament to his stature.
A pathway of stamped concrete, flanked by lush greenery, guides one to the serene final resting place of the Wigwe family. According to Saturday Vanguard, three tombs have been meticulously built, adorned with state-of-the-art Italian Carara marble and finished with imported granite galaxy.
The words “Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength” are elegantly embossed in the upper corner of the mausoleum, offering solace to visitors. The transparent design of this private cemetery speaks volumes—Dr. Herbert Wigwe was not only wealthy in life, but he appears even grander in death.
With a multitude of foreign guests expected to bid farewell to this remarkable individual, all eyes will undoubtedly be drawn to the sprawling expanse of the Wigwe International University. The construction of the university itself boasts a remarkable 60% local labor from Rivers State, 20% from Isiokpo, and the remaining 20% from across Nigeria—a testament to the visionary’s detribalized approach.
“He constructed this private cemetery before the inception of the university. His residence here was planned with a distinct entrance and walls, set apart from the university grounds. He had a profound vision, and he was actively working towards realizing those aspirations. However, whether those visions will come to fruition remains uncertain,” a credible source lamented.
Speaking with a touch of spirituality, the source added, “Only the visionary himself can fully bring his dreams to life. I cannot predict whether these visions, including the university, will materialize as envisioned by the owner of the dream.”
Every structure within the university premises is undergoing a rapid transformation. Each completed building stands resplendent in pure white hues, complemented by black corrugated roofs. The ongoing construction of internal roads proceeds with remarkable swiftness, as every member of the staff fulfills their role in this evolving legacy.
