‘How NSA Ribadu diverted US military to Sokoto after I begged Trump for help’ – Rev Dachomo

Outspoken Plateau State clergyman, Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo, has accused the National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu, of allegedly diverting U.S. troops to Sokoto State and other northern regions, despite his personal appeal to former President Donald Trump to assist Christians in Plateau following a wave of extremist killings.

Dachomo, the Barkin Ladi Regional Chairman of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN), had last year urged Trump to send American forces to Plateau State to combat terrorists reportedly targeting Christians in the Middle Belt.

However, when the U.S. responded, they carried out precision airstrikes on December 25, 2025, in Sokoto State, targeting ISWAP, Boko Haram, and Lakurawa insurgents. Subsequently, U.S. military detachments were deployed to various northern states, leaving Plateau State without troops—a move the cleric claims was orchestrated by the NSA.

In a video message released on Friday, Rev. Dachomo said the diversion was part of a deliberate plan “to protect Muslims and allow the continued killing of Christians in the Middle Belt.”

“When I invited Trump to Nigeria to come and help us, their blueprint was that none of the American soldiers should come to Plateau State,” he said.

“The National Security Adviser redirected the attention of the U.S. to Sokoto State and other Muslim-dominated areas in the north. Now the Muslims are enjoying the coming of Trump and the American soldiers. They are now saying Trump is in Nigeria to protect the Muslims.

“Christians are being killed like chickens. There are ongoing killings in Christian-dominated areas in Borno, Kwara, Kaduna, Benue, and Plateau.

“That is their roadmap to wipe out Christians in Nigeria, to make sure that nobody stands for us. It has come to a time when we must stand up and defend ourselves.

“Now the Muslims in northern Nigeria are benefiting more than the Christians who called for the help,” he added.
