‘I made a mistake not supporting Tinubu earlier’ – Cubana Chief Priest
Popular socialite and businessman, Cubana Chief Priest, has admitted that not supporting Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the last general election was a mistake.
He revealed that he is now adopting a political approach focused on collaboration with the federal government.
Speaking at a political gathering in Imo State, Chief Priest described the event as the result of weeks of planning and a reflection of growing support for the current administration.
He said years of political opposition had not yielded results, prompting the shift in strategy.
“We have decided to partner with the government at the center. We are not ready to fight. We tried fighting and it didn’t work for us,” he stated.
He praised Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma for maintaining a close relationship with the federal government, noting that it has facilitated development in the state.
Chief Priest also commended Seyi Tinubu as a unifying figure strengthening ties across ethnic and regional lines.
Reflecting on the last election, he acknowledged his previous opposition to Tinubu as a political miscalculation.
“Politics is a game…we don’t want to lose again and we will never waste our votes again,” he said.
He added that the growing support for the president could develop into one of the country’s largest political movements, promising stronger mobilisation ahead of future elections.
Chief Priest concluded by praying for Tinubu’s success and urging Nigerians to embrace unity, cooperation, and partnership.
