Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, the Spiritual Director of the Adoration Ministry in Enugu, has called on Nigerians to pray to prevent an impending famine, warning that the country is at risk as fuel prices continue to rise.

Speaking at the commissioning of the new Blessed Omemma Oil and Gas Limited filling station in Enugu East Local Government Area, Mbaka voiced concerns over Nigeria’s escalating hunger crisis, emphasizing that unchecked fuel costs could further deepen the country’s food insecurity.

“Nigeria is facing a hunger problem, and if we don’t act, this could develop into a famine,” Mbaka cautioned. He urged the government to address the issue of soaring fuel prices urgently and asked Nigerians to join in collective prayer for divine intervention.

The cleric also advised citizens to make wise financial decisions in light of the currency’s declining value, suggesting investments over traditional bank savings.

“Invest your money wisely. Don’t let it sit in the bank where it loses value,” Mbaka advised, adding that government action could help ease these challenges, underscoring the role of prayer in overcoming such national crises.
