Social critic Deji Adeyanju, has hailed President Bola Tinubu for appointing Ibrahim Kashim Imam as Chairman of the Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA).

IDOMA VOICE recalls that Tinubu announced Imam’s appointment alongside others last week.

Reacting, Adeyanju said “It is incredibly refreshing to see such a young person being given a significant position in a country where the youths are barely recognized. I urge the president to do more in this regard.”

His statement below;

I am elated to receive the news of the recent appointment of Mr. Ibrahim Kashim Imam, a 24year old youth, as the chairman of the Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA).

By all indications this appointment by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Tinubu, appears well thought out. For so long, we have advocated for the inclusion of the youths in the highest level of governance across our country.

It is incredibly refreshing to see such a young person being given a significant position in a country where the youths are barely recognized. I urge the president to do more in this regard.

The past 8 years saw the youths pushed to the back burner while the nation earnestly yearned for new ideas. The return to a youth friendly policy is, therefore, welcomed and I am optimistic that the President will sustain this policy.

In the same vein, I urge Mr. Imam to justify his appointment by ensuring that he brings new ideas to bear across the nation’s roads that urgently require rehabilitation. He has been entrusted with a sensitive leadership position and I urge him not to let the youths and the nation down.
