The President of the Idoma Development Association (IDA), Hon. Alex Odoh, has strongly condemned the gruesome killing of innocent residents in Olegabulu community, Agatu Local Government Area of Benue State.

Reacting to the tragic incident, which claimed the lives of a traditional ruler, Chief Momo Alexander Awodi, his wife Abigail Awodi, their son Boniface Ochowechi, and other members of the community, the IDA President described the attack as barbaric, heartbreaking, and unacceptable.

In a statement signed by the IDA Spokesperson, Christian Ekre, Hon. Odoh expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and extended the Association’s condolences to the bereaved families, noting that IDA stands firmly with all those affected during this painful time.

“We strongly condemn this senseless and brutal killing of our people. Our hearts are with the families who have lost their loved ones in this tragic incident.

“We stand with them in grief and in solidarity,” he said.

The IDA President raised concern over the persistent insecurity across communities within the Benue Zone C axis and called on security agencies to act swiftly and decisively.

“We call on relevant security agencies to thoroughly investigate this incident, bring the perpetrators to justice, and take proactive steps to prevent further attacks on our communities,” he added.

Hon. Odoh reaffirmed the commitment of IDA to continue advocating for the safety, unity, and welfare of Idoma people and the entire Benue Zone C.

“We will not relent in speaking for Idoma Land and the entire Benue Zone C. The safety and dignity of our people remain our top priority,” he stated.

He further urged residents to remain calm and law-abiding while security agencies carry out their investigations, emphasizing the need for unity and restraint in the face of provocation.
