The Ochetoha K’Idoma Youth Wing, the umbrella body of all Idoma youths worldwide, has issued a formal apology to the Tiv Nation following a misguided statement made by one of their members, Abba Elly Ochanya Enokela.

Ochanya is currently cooling her heels in the police net over her comment on Facebook that married Tiv men share their wives with visitors.

The statement expressed regret and sought forgiveness for the inappropriate remarks.

The Idoma Youth Wing emphasised that the views expressed by Abba Elly Ochanya Enokela do not represent the general perception of the Idoma nation.

They urged the Tiv Nation not to let this incident strain the historically strong relationship between the Tiv and Idoma communities, highlighting that fate has brought them together.

The Youth Wing assured that steps have been taken to address and prevent the recurrence of such regrettable incidents in the future. Additionally, they advocated for the use of constructive dialogue and engagement, symbolized by the blueapp, to foster understanding and unity between communities.

President Obande Gideon Obande reiterated the importance of unity and collaboration, expressing their commitment to working together for a harmonious coexistence between the Tiv and Idoma nations.
