INEC recognises Wike-backed PDP National Working Committee

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially recognised the faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Working Committee (NWC) backed by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.

The electoral body updated the party’s leadership on its official website on Monday, listing Abdulrahman Mohammed as National Chairman and Senator Sam Anyanwu as National Secretary, alongside other key members of the NWC.

Both Mohammed and Anyanwu were elected during the PDP National Convention held on Sunday night at the Velodrome of the National Stadium in Abuja. Members of the NWC were re-elected through consensus following the dissolution of the party’s national caretaker committee.
