Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei Confirmed Dead After Joint Israeli-US Strikes
Iranian state media on Sunday confirmed the death of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, following coordinated military strikes reportedly carried out by Israel and the United States.
The development comes a day after attacks targeted key locations across Iran, escalating tensions in the Middle East.
Khamenei, born on April 19, 1939, in Mashhad, eastern Iran, was a prominent Islamist cleric and revolutionary figure. He played a significant role in the 1979 Islamic Revolution that toppled the US-backed monarch, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi.
Reacting to the development, US President Donald Trump stated that the Iranian leader was unable to evade American intelligence surveillance systems.
According to Trump, advanced tracking capabilities, combined with close operational coordination with Israel, ensured that Khamenei and other senior leaders killed in the strikes had no opportunity to escape.
