Fresh facts have emerged on the murder of Jessica Agee, an undergraduate of Benue State University, Makurdi, by suspected cultists.

IDOMA VOICE reports that Jessica Agee was shot dead by unidentified gunmen at her lodge in Gyado Villa area of Makurdi, on Monday night.

The late Jessica, who was said to be a student of the Department of Anatomy, was said to have met her untimely death after some suspected cultists who were allegedly gunning for her boyfriend broke into her house and shot her along with her boyfriend. She died on the spot.

According to a source who spoke with IDOMA VOICE on the condition of anonymity, her boyfriend who was a wanted member of rival confraternity, had vacated his own lodge after numerous threats from rival groups, and was hiding in Jessica’s lodge until his last paper in his final exam in the institution, before rival cultists went on a manhunt for him.

“They eventually found him in his alleged girlfriend’s house and shot him and the girlfriend who died on the spot,” the source said.

The boy (whose identity is yet to be ascertained) was said to have been rushed to a health facility with gun wounds by some neighbors.

The source added his state of health was critical as he was unconscious, and he is not sure whether would make it.

The source said the alleged boyfriend is a student in the Mass Communication department.

IDOMA VOICE reports that there were gunshots on the second campus of Benue State University on Monday following the final paper of the final year students of Mass Communication, as students who were said to belong to a particular confraternity went out about celebrating their promotion to “Lords” by virtue of their graduation.

The graduation of some suspected cultists IDOMA VOICE also gathered led to fresh clash between rival cult groups.

The clash reportedly claimed the lives of no fewer than four persons.

The clash and manhunt for rival cultists was centered around the Gyado villa.

On Tuesday, the school authority shut all entries into the school, except the main campus gate.

Earlier, there were fears that a similar incident like the Monday situation, may occur as students of the Public Administration were taking their final papers.

There is still panic in some quarters, over a possible reprisal from rival cult groups following yesterday’s clash and killing of their members.

All entries to the school are still blocked (except the main campus gate) as at the time of filling in this report.
