Jime vs Ortom: Benue APC insults Tor Tiv, calls him King of Politics

One of Benue state All Progressives Congress, APC, spokespersons, Berger Alfred Emberga has taken an insulting swipe at the Tiv paramount ruler, Tor Tiv V, Professor James Ayatse, referring to him as ‘Tor Pati.’

‘Tor Pati’ in Tiv language means ‘King of Politics’.

Berger made the scathing statement yesterday, February 4, on his Facebook handle.

In the said post, he described the paramount ruler’s kingship as unfortunate to the Tiv people wherein he referred to the Tor Tiv as a core politician who has abandoned his responsibilities and delved into active politics.

Mr. Berger, who has failed to provide evidence to back is written attack on the Begha u Tiv, has received a heavy dose of condemnation across party lines since he made the post.

While many Tiv sons and daughters urge APC to call one of its spokesmen to order and sanction him to desist from such uncouth comments, others describe Berger’s act as sacrilege and a denigration of the highest seat of the Tiv nation.

They call on APC not to drag the Tor Tiv stool into the muddy waters of politics bearing in mind that the Tor Tiv is the father of every Tiv son and daughter irrespective of which political party to which they belong.
