In line with the job creation policy of Governor Alia’s administration, the Benue State University Teaching Hospital, Makurdi is hereby inviting applications from candidates suitably qualified and competent for appointment into various establishment positions as follows:

 

1. CONSULTANTS: (CONMESS 6 and 7)

The following specialists doctors are required: Gastroenterologist, Endocrinologist, Dermatologist, Plastic Surgeon, Paediatric Surgeon, Anaesthesiologist, General Surgeon, Cardiologist, Oncologist, Otolaryngologist (ENT) Neurosurgeon, Nephrologist, Pulmonologist, Gastroenterologist, Haemato-Oncologist.

Qualification for the Post: Candidates must possess the Part Il Certificate of the Fellowship of the National Post-graduate Medical College of Nigeria or its equivalent in the Sub-Specialty. They must have current practicing licenses of the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria. Point of entry will depend on cognate experience.

 

2. Registrars: (CONMESS 3)

These are required in the following sub- specialties, Ophthalmology, Radiology, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Paediatrics, Anatomical, Pathology, Chemical Pathology, Medical Microbiology, Haematology, Anaesthesia, Orthopaedics & Traumatology, Psychiatry, Ear, Nose & Throat (ENT)Community Medicine.

Qualification for the Posts: Candidates for the posts must possess the following:

 

(a) MBBS, MBBCH or its equivalent

 

(b) Primary Fellowship Examination of the National Post-graduate Medical Colleges of Nigeria or its equivalent in the relevant specialty

 

(c) They must have current practicing license of the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria.

 

3. HOUSE OFFICERS

Qualification for the Post: Candidates for the posts must possess the following:

 

(a) MBBS, MBBCH or its equivalent

 

(b) They must have current practicing license of the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria.

 

4. NURSING OFFICER II – (CONHESS 7)

The following sub-specialties Nurses are required: Orthopaedic Nurses, Ophthtalmic Nurse, Oncology Nurse, A&E Nurse, Perioperative Nurse, Anaesthetic Nurse, Burn and Plastic Nurse, Renal Nurse, ENT Nurse, Endoscopy Nurse, Psychiatric Nurse, Intensive Care Nurse, Paediatric Nurse.

Qualification for the Posts: Candidates for 4 (1-13) must possess a minimum of diploma in the specific area of sub-specialization and shall be registered Nurses/Midwives (RN/RM). Candidates must also have current practising License.

 

NURSING OFFICER II- (CONHESS 7)

 

Qualification for the Posts: Candidates for the post must possess NRN / NRM with current practicing Licenses and duly registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.

STAFF NURSE/STAFF MIDWIFE – (CONHESS 6)

Qualification for the Posts: Candidates for the post must possess either NRN or NRM with current practicing Licenses and duly registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.

 

5. LIBRARY OFFICER – (CONHESS 06)

Qualification for the Post: Candidates must possess a diploma in Library studies obtained from a recognised institution, Part 1 of Associate membership of the Library Association and knowledge of cataloguing system with atleast a two years post qualification experience.

 

6. MEDICAL RECORD OFFICER – (CONHESS 7)

Qualification for the Post: Candidates must possess a B.Sc / HND in Health Information Management and registered with Health Records officers Registration Board of Nigeria. Minimum of 4 years work experience. Candidates with knowledge in Electronic Medical Records system will be an added advantage.

 

7. MEDICAL RECORDS TECHNICIAN – (CONHESS 6)

Qualification for the Post1: Candidates must possess a National Diploma in Health Information Management and registered with Health Records officers Registration Board of Nigeria. 2.Associate membership of the Association of Medical Records Technicians

 

8. INFORMATION OFFICER II – (CONHESS 7)

Qualification for the Post: Candidates must possess a good Honours Degree, preferably in Arts, Journalism, Social Science or English Language from a recognised University plus NYSC discharge or exemption certificate

 

9. MEDICAL SOCIAL WORKER – (CONHESS 7)

Qualification for the Post: Candidates must possess a Degree in social work or any of the relevant humanities/ Social Sciences from a recognised University.

 

10. PROCUREMENT OFFICER II – (CONHESS 7)

Qualification for the Post: Candidates must possess a Degree in relevant field such as Business Management, supply chain management or a related discipline. Professional certificate like Chartered Institute of procurement and Supply Management of Nigeria will be an added advantage, plus NYSC discharge or exemption certificate

 

11. COMPUTER NETWORK ENGINEER I – (CONHESS 8)Qualification for the Post: Candidates must possess a B.Sc. Computer Science, Information technology of related field with proven experience in Computer Networking , proficiency networking protocols and certifications such as CCNA or its equivalent, plus NYSC discharge or exemption certificate

 

12 COMPUTER HARDWARE ENGINEER I – CONHESS 8.

Qualification for the Post: Candidates must possess a B.Sc. Computer Science, Information technology of related field with proven experience in Computer hardware, proficiency hardware maintenance and certifications such as COMPTIA A+ or its equivalent , plus NYSC discharge or exemption certificate

 

13. COMPUTER ANALYST – (CONHESS 7)

Qualification for the Post: Candidate must possess a Higher National Diploma (HND) or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering plus NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.

 

14. ACCOUNTANT II – (CONHESS 7)

Qualification for the Post: Candidates for the position must possess a good honours degree in Accountancy from a recognized institution and NYSC discharge/ exemption Certificate.

 

15. EXECUTIVE OFFICER ACCOUNT – (CONHESS 6)

Qualification for the Post: Candidates must possess Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in Accounting or Business Administration.

 

16. ASSISTANT EXECUTIVE OFFICER ACCOUNT – (CONHESS 5)

Qualification for the Post: Candidates must possess National Diploma (ND) in Accounting or Business Administration.A Pass in Section I & II (intermediate) of the Association of Certified and Cooperate Accountants.Intermediate certificate of the institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators RSA Stage III (Advanced) in Account and other related subjects.

 

17. ASSISTANT STORE OFFICER – (CONHESS 5)

Qualification for the Post: Candidates must possess any of the following qualifications:General Certificate of Education (A/L) in two subjects obtained at one sitting or three subjects at two sittingsOrdinary National Diploma (OND) in Business studies/ purchasing and supply Intermediate certificate of the institute of Purchasing and supply, Nigeria

 

18. INTERNAL AUDITOR II – (CONHESS 7)

Qualification for the Post: Candidates for the position must possess a good honours degree in Accounting from a recognized institution and NYSC discharge, exemption or exclusion certificate.

 

19. MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNICIAN (CONHESS 7)

Qualification for the Post: Candidates must possess National Diploma (ND) in Science Laboratory Technology from a recognized Institution with a minimum of Lower Credit plus SSCE/NECO/WASC/GCE O/L credits in 5 subjects including English and Mathematics is compulsory.

 

20. MEDICAL LABORATORY SCIENTIST (CONHESS 9) Chemical Pathology, Microbiology, Haematology, Anatomical Pathology.

Qualification for the Posts: Candidates must possess B.Sc. in Medical Laboratory Science from a recognized Institution plus NYSC Discharge certificate or evidence of exemption. SSCE/NECO/WASC/GCE O/L with credits passes in 5 subjects including English and Mathematics. In addition, candidates must be duly registered with Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN).

 

21. MORTUARY ATTENDANT (CONHESS 2)

Qualification for the Post: Candidates must possess JSSCE or SSCE with three credits obtained at a sitting or four credits at two sittings and a certificate of Health Assistant Cadre.

 

22. PHARMACIST – (CONHESS 9)

Qualification for the Post: Candidates must possess B.Sc. or B. Pharm. Degree from a recognized Institution registrable with Pharmacist Council of Nigeria.

 

23. PHARMACY TECHNICIAN – (CONHESS 6)

Qualification for the Post: Candidates must have evidence of completing the prescribed three years training programme in the school of Health Technology for Technician Cadre.

 

24. PHYSIOTHERAPY – (CONHESS 9)

Qualification for the Post: Candidates must possess a degree in Physiotherapy from a recognized university and must be registered with the Medical Rehabilitation Therapist Registration Board of Nigeria, plus NYSC discharge certificate or evidence of exemption.

 

25. RADIOGRAPHER AND IMAGING SCIENTIST – (CONHESS 9)

Qualification for the Post: Candidates must possess B.Rad. from a recognized Institution and must have successfully completed a one year internship programme.

 

26. X-RAY TECHNICIAN – (CONHESS 7)

Qualification for the Post: Candidates must possess a minimum of National Diploma (ND) in Medical Imaging Technology and other related disciplines from a recognized Institution with two years experience in the use of Digital X-ray equipment and must be duly licensed by the appropriate council or regulatory authority.

 

27. ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER II – (CONHESS 7)

Qualification for the Post: Candidates must possess a first degree in any of the humanities or social sciences from a recognized Institution with a minimum of 2nd Class Lower Division plus NYSC discharge certificate or evidence of exemption.

 

28. HIGHER EXECUTIVE OFFICER ADMIN. – (CONHESS 7)

Qualification for the Post: Candidates must possess Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in Business Administration or Public Administration from a recognized Institution, plus atleast five years post qualification cognate experience or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Business studies/ Administration or Public Administration, plus atleast three years post qualification cognate experience.

 

29. EXECUTIVE OFFICER ADMIN ( CONHESS 5)

Qualification for the Post: Candidates must possess National Diploma (ND) in Law, Administration or Personal Management from a recognized Institution with a minimum of Lower Credit Plus SSCE/NECO/WASC/GCE O/L credits in 5 subjects including English and Mathematics is compulsory.

 

30. COMPUTER OPERATOR (CONHESS 4)

Qualification for the Post: Candidates must possess National Diploma (ND) in Computer Appreciation or a Vocational training certification in basic computer skills from a recognized Institution Plus SSCE/NECO/WASC/GCE O/L with credits passes in 3 subjects including English Language.

 

31. CONFIDENTIAL SECRETARY III (CONHESS 5)

Qualification for the Post: Candidates must possess Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in Secretarial Studies with evidence of proficiency in Computer.

 

32. DENTAL TECHNICIAN (CONHESS 7)

Candidates must possess the following qualifications: Higher National Diploma (HND) in Dental Technology from a recognized Institution Full Technological Certificate (Technician) of the city of Guilds of London Institute of Dental technology, plus NYSC discharge certificate or evidence of exemption.

 

33. STATISTICIAN/DATA ANALYST ASSISTANT- (CONHESS 3)

Qualification for the Post: Candidates must possess an SSC/WASC/GCE with 2 credits in science subject plusproficiency in Computer Literacy

 

34. STATISTICIAN/DATA ANALYST OFFICER (CONHESS 6)

Qualification for the Post: Candidates must possess an Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in Statistics from a recognized Institution with 3 years of relevant working experience.

 

35. ASSISTANT PLANNING OFFICER (CONHESS 7)

Qualification for the Post: Candidates must possess a good honours degree from a recognized University in any of the following fields: Mathematics, Statistics, Economics and Educational Management with bias in Mathematics/Statistics/Economics.

 

36. CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST – (CONHESS 7)

Qualification for the Post: Must have a good Bachelor’s Degree in Psychologist from a recognized Institution plus NYSC discharge certificate or evidence of exemption

 

37. COUNSELLING PSYCHOLOGIST I – (CONHESS 7)

Qualification for the Post: Candidates must possess the following qualifications:(1) Candidate must be over 30 years of age. (2) Must possess a Masters Degree in Guidance and Counselling. (3) Must have served satisfactory as a Counsellor in a Hospital setting for at least 3 years and must be of good conduct.

 

38. DIETICIAN – (CONHESS 6)

Qualification for the Post: Candidates must possess Higher National Diploma (HND) in dietetics from a recognized Institution, plus NYSC Discharge certificate or evidence of exemption.

 

39. HIGHER DIETICIAN – (CONHESS 7)

Qualification for the Post: Candidates must possess Higher National Diploma (HND) in dietetics in from a recognized Institution, plus NYSC discharge, exclusion or Exemption Certificate with 3 years of relevant working experience.

 

40. CHIEF SECURITY OFFICER- (CONHESS 12)

Qualification for the Post: Candidates must be Ex-Servicemen not below the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police or its equivalent on the Armed Forces with not less than ten (10) years experience.

 

41. PATROL/SUPERVISOR- (CONHESS 6)

Qualification for the Post: Candidates must be Ex-Servicemen not below the rank of Police Inspectors or Warrant Officer in the Armed Forces with not less than ten (10) years experience.

 

42. PROSTHETICS – (CONHESS 6)

Qualification for the Post: Candidates must possess a National Diploma (ND) in Artificial Prostheses or in Orthopaedic appliances from a recognised institution.
