Kano: Gov Yusuf under fire over suspension of Ganduje from APC

The APC National Vanguard, a political interest group, has taken a firm stance against Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, accusing him of orchestrating the reported suspension of the APC national chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje.

Ganduje was officially suspended on Monday by his ward in the Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area of Kano State, as reported by DAILY POST. However, the state party leadership swiftly refuted this action, clarifying that those involved in the suspension were not recognized as card-carrying members of the party.

In response, the APC group issued a statement signed by its convener, Alabi Toke, and secretary, Makinde Kolawole, condemning what they saw as an attack on the democratic values of the ruling party.

The group directly pointed fingers at Governor Yusuf as the driving force behind the alleged suspension, urging him to step down if his intentions are rooted in anything other than the fair pursuit of justice within the party.

“If Governor Yusuf lacks substantive ideas beyond witch-hunting and divisive politics in Kano State, we urge him to gracefully step aside. Leadership should be entrusted to capable hands committed to due process, rather than resorting to tactics of rascality, impersonation, and manipulation against the opposition,” the statement read.

The group further cautioned individuals outside the APC seeking re-entry to do so through honorable and civilized means. They vehemently opposed any use of underhanded, unethical methods, describing such approaches as detrimental to the democratic ethos and the spirit of fair play.
