However, the President General of Enugwu-Agidi community Mr. Ndubuisi Obijifor confirmed that a family was kidnapped while the wife and their daughter were later released at about 3am yesterday.

It will be recalled that abductors struck on a spot about two poles apart last October 28 when they abducted a university don later identified as Professor Silvia Okonkwo of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Igbariam on her way back from work.
Both incidents took place on bad portions of the road.
After the October 28 incident, the Anambra State Government quickly repaired the bad spot leaving other dilapidated portions of the long stretch road.
Prior to these incidents in 2019, a similar incident took place.
In his reaction the traditional ruler of Nawgu, a neighbouring community, Igwe George Okaa-Onwuogu pleaded with law enforcement agencies to mount a special squad on the road to unmask masterminds of the ugly incidents and possibly stop them.
