The Governor, in a letter read by the Clerk of the House, Mr. Olalekan Onafeko, expressed appreciation for the diligence and commitment of the Speaker and House members during the previous screening and confirmation of 22 nominees. The Governor noted that the new list combines a balanced selection of previously presented and new individuals, reflecting a broad political spectrum and diverse backgrounds that align with the state’s rich diversity.

Notably, the assembly had rejected 17 commissioner nominees in a previous session, including former Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, and former Commissioner for Information, Mr. Gbenga Omotosho. However, 22 other commissioner nominees were confirmed through a voice vote following the screening at the assembly’s Committee of the Whole during plenary.
