Leave me out of your woes, I don’t have an axe to grind with anybody – Gemade warns blackmailers
Senator Barnabas Gemade issued a stern warning to unscrupulous and opportunistic blackmailers seemingly targeting Benue State Governor, Dr. Hyacinth Alia. Gemade emphasized that he has no personal vendetta against anyone and should be excluded from any such conflicts.
The statement, released by Comr. Solo Dzuah, Senator Gemade’s Media and Publicity Aide, on December 3, 2023, was prompted by a Facebook publication from Hilary Agber. Agber implicated Gemade, along with other party leaders, suggesting that the governor was planning to defect to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) amidst the ongoing crises within the ruling party (APC) in Benue.
Senator Gemade urged those with issues against the governor to address them directly instead of dragging him into the matter. He questioned the wisdom of individuals who, instead of focusing on fostering development for the state and democracy, choose to engage in destructive conflicts.
Denying any involvement in a purported Zoom meeting, Gemade asserted his lack of awareness and participation in any such event. He firmly stated that if such meetings did occur, he was not part of them in any capacity. Gemade concluded by advising those burdened with “heavy hearts” to direct their concerns elsewhere and not involve him in their issues.
