Leaving ADC quietly would be a disgrace — Suswam clears air on joining APC
Former Benue State Governor, Gabriel Suswam, has dismissed reports of his alleged defection from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing them as false and insulting to his political stature.
Speaking on Sunday during a visit to the residence of Prof. Saasongo Nongu in Makurdi, the state capital, Suswam said it would be beneath his reputation to abandon his party secretly or betray his loyal supporters.
“I am too big to dump the ADC in secret. Leaving the party quietly would be the height of disgrace to my personality and a betrayal to my loyalists,” Gabriel Suswam, former Governor of Benue State
The former senator reaffirmed his commitment to the ADC, noting that he remains a proud and dedicated member determined to strengthen the party’s structure and expand its influence across Benue State and beyond.
Suswam also urged ADC members to rally behind Mzondu, whom he described as a visionary and dependable leader capable of advancing the party’s ideals.
In his remarks, Mzondu expressed gratitude to Suswam for his mentorship and guidance, pledging unwavering loyalty to him and the ADC.
“Senator Suswam has been a political father to me. His wisdom and leadership have shown me the right path to follow, and I remain loyal to him and the cause of our great party,” Mzondu, ADC stalwart
The former governor’s comments come amid persistent rumors of defections among opposition figures in Benue State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
