Kylian Mbappe opened the scoring for Paris Saint-Germain as they clinched a 2-0 victory over Real Sociedad in the first leg of the last 16 Champions League match.

The Ligue 1 champions asserted dominance in the game with two goals in the second half at Parc des Princes.

Mbappe found the net in the 58th minute, followed by Bradley Barcola’s strike in the 70th minute, giving PSG an aggregate advantage heading into the return leg in March.

Real Sociedad posed a threat in the first half, with Brais Mendez delivering a challenging free-kick and Andre Silva missing a close-range opportunity.

Despite Alex Remiro’s efforts to deny Mbappe, Sociedad continued to push forward, with Takefusa Kubo attempting a double effort, albeit without success.

After halftime, Sociedad came close to scoring as Mendez’s powerful strike hit the crossbar, maintaining the deadlock.

However, PSG seized the opportunity when Mbappe scored from close range just before the hour mark, capitalizing on a well-executed corner from Ousmane Dembele.

Mbappe nearly added another goal in the 69th minute, narrowly missing the target with a strike from his favored right foot.

But PSG secured their victory a minute later when Fabian Ruiz provided a skillful through ball, allowing Barcola to drive into the box and finish elegantly, sealing the win for the Parisians.
