Mimi Orubibi, Kwande APC chairman, elders meet Ortom ahead formal defection

Ahead of the formal defection from All Progressives Congress, APC to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, 2019 Senatorial candidate of APC Mrs Mimi Adzape Orubibi today met with Governor Samuel Ortom at the Benue Peoples House Makurdi.

 

She was accompanied by the Kwande LGA Chairman of the APC, Hon Iorfa Zoho, secretary, welfare secretary and treasurer of the party in Kwande, ward chairmen and women leaders as well as elders and youth leaders of the party from Kwande.

 

Mrs Orubibi told her elders and supporters during the visit that her benevolence and goodwill to them was courtesy of Governor Samuel Ortom, stressing that she was elated they did not abandon her on the way.

 

APC Chairman Kwande Local Government Area and Chairman Forum of APC Chairmen in Benue State, Hon Iorfa Zoho said he had pledged never to leave his sister Mimi Orubibi and that is why he and the entire party structure in Kwande have decided to join Mimi to the PDP.

 

Governor Ortom assured Mrs Orubibi and her teeming supporters that PDP would embrace them wholly, stressing that they would not regret their support for the party and urged those who are still in the APC to follow suit.

 

The Governor recalled that Kwande, it was, which stopped the jihadist agenda in 1804 at Ushongo hills, saying people of the area should remain firm in the fight against the renewed jihadist movement.

 

While thanking the people of Kwande for accompanying their daughter to meet with him ahead of the formal defection, Governor Ortom said he would personally attend the ceremony scheduled for Saturday, 7th August, 2021.
