Argentine football legend Lionel Messi made a stunning impact for Major League Soccer (MLS) side Inter Miami as he scored a brace in their League Cup clash against MLS on Wednesday, July 26 at the DRV PNK Stadium.

In just his second game for the American club, Messi showcased his brilliance by opening the scoring in the eighth minute. After his initial shot hit the crossbar, he pounced on the rebound with his right foot to find the back of the net.

The 34-year-old football maestro wasn’t done yet, as he netted his second goal in the 22nd minute, capitalizing on a pass from Robert Taylor inside the 18-yard box.

Taylor himself got on the scoresheet just before halftime, adding to Inter Miami’s lead. Messi continued to impress in the second half, providing an assist in the 53rd minute for Taylor’s second goal, taking the scoreline to 4-0.

With the crowd giving him a standing ovation, Messi was substituted off in the 77th minute. The match concluded with Inter Miami securing a convincing 4-0 victory.

The game drew the attention of various American celebrities, with DJ Khaled and award-winning rapper P. Diddy among those present in the stadium.

Since joining Inter Miami, Messi has already made a significant impact, tallying three goals and one assist in just two games.

Despite Messi’s contributions, Inter Miami currently sits in 15th place in the MLS Eastern Conference with 18 points from 22 matches. However, his arrival has undoubtedly brought a new sense of excitement and hope for the team’s future prospects.
