Kano Pillars have re-appointed former striker Gambo Mohammed as an assistant coach for the upcoming Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season.

Mohammed will work directly under newly appointed head coach, Abdulahi Maikaba, as part of the coaching staff.

Having previously served as an assistant under coach Evans Ogenyi, Mohammed played a crucial role in helping Kano Pillars secure a promotion ticket in Asaba.

His experience and knowledge of the club will be invaluable as Kano Pillars aim to maintain their elite status and compete in the 2023-24 NPFL season.

As a former Kano Pillars player, Mohammed was instrumental in the club’s NPFL title victories in 2013 and 2014, adding further depth to his coaching credentials.

His return to the club is seen as a strategic move to strengthen the coaching setup and bolster the team’s performance in the upcoming campaign.

Before rejoining Kano Pillars, Mohammed also had a stint with Katsina United during his playing career, showcasing his versatility and dedication to Nigerian football.
