Joseph Aloba, father of the late Nigerian singer Mohbad, has claimed he paid N16 million to a pathologist for a second autopsy on his son.

Aloba made the disclosure during a recent live session on TikTok.

“With all sincerity, I paid the first tranche of N16 million to the pathologist,” he said. “After that, I spent close to N2 million. If the pathologist comes out to deny this, then don’t believe me again.”

Responding to conflicting reports about the amount spent, Aloba added, “Some people are saying it was N12 million, but I’m telling you now—it was N16 million.”

This revelation comes about a month after Dr. Uwom Eze, who conducted the independent autopsy and forensic review, was unable to conclusively determine the cause of Mohbad’s death.

In June 2024, a Coroner Court in Ikorodu, Lagos State, presided over by Magistrate T.A. Shotobi, granted Aloba permission to engage a licensed pathologist for an independent investigation into the circumstances surrounding the singer’s passing.
