NBA denies half nude female lawyer, Ifunanya

The Aba branch of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has strongly refuted claims of affiliation with the controversial Nigerian lawyer and social media personality, Ifunanya Grant, known as “Baddest Lawyer.” In an official statement released on Tuesday, jointly signed by the branch’s Chairman, Innocent Egwu, and Secretary, K.C. Okoro, the branch asserted that the said lawyer is not recognized as one of their members.

Addressing the matter, the statement underlined the branch’s commitment to safeguarding the reputation of law-abiding legal practitioners and ensuring that they are not unfairly associated with negative perceptions. The statement highlighted the necessity of maintaining the integrity of the profession while simultaneously addressing instances involving a minority of problematic individuals.

The statement affirmed, “We want to firmly state for the record that Miss Ifunanya Excel Grant is neither a member of the NBA, Aba Branch, nor is she recognized by the NBA, Aba Branch.”

While expressing support for the broader efforts of the Nigerian Bar Association in purging the legal profession of those who deviate from ethical standards, the Aba branch urged careful scrutiny to avoid inadvertently casting a shadow on innocent and lawful practitioners.

This clarification comes amidst the backdrop of Ifunanya Grant’s notoriety, following her association with the Aba branch’s intention to pursue legal action against her due to her contentious social media behavior, which included content related to substance misuse and explicit imagery.

The Aba Nigerian Bar Association’s statement seeks to rectify any misconceptions and uphold the reputation of their members while contributing to the larger cause of maintaining the integrity and honor of the legal profession.
