NELFUND warns public against fake student loan registration link
The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has cautioned the public about a fraudulent message circulating online that falsely claims the NELFUND Student Loan Registration Portal is open.
The message directs applicants to a third-party website (http://gvly.xyz/Nelfund-Student-Loan), which NELFUND has confirmed is unauthorised and intended to defraud unsuspecting students.
In a statement posted on its X account on Tuesday, the agency urged students and the general public not to click on the link or submit any personal information, stressing that the official registration portal is only accessible through NELFUND’s verified channels.
The agency also reminded applicants to remain vigilant online and report any suspicious links or communications purporting to come from NELFUND.
“Applicants are encouraged to always verify official announcements via NELFUND’s official website and social media channels,” the statement read.
This advisory is part of NELFUND’s ongoing measures to protect students and maintain the integrity of the student loan application process.
