Nigeria vs Benin Republic: Eagles land in Cotonou ahead of crucial AFCON Qualifier (PHOTOS)

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have arrived Porto Novo ahead of Saturday’s African Cup of Nations (AFCON) Qualifying match against the Squirrels of Benin Republic.

The Eagles would be locking horns with a strong Beninese side that has been unbeaten at home for over a decade.

The Gernot Rohr men who left Lagos by boats confirmed their arrival in Benin Republic on Friday evening via the Super Eagles official Twitter page.

“We have arrived in Porto Novo. We also had our mandatory Covid test done at the point of entry.
We’ve settled in and lodged at the Golden Tulip Le Diplomat Hotel in Cotonou.

The 24 players in the squad are Ahmed Musa, Troost-Ekong, Ola Aina, Ajayi, Henry Onyekuru, Peter Etebor, Adeleke, Awaziem, Shehu, Iwuala, Noble, Alex Iwobi, Balogun.

Others are Joe Aribo, Tyrone Ebuehi, Maduka Okoye, Collins, Onuachu, Uzoho, Sanusi, Wilfred Ndidi, Samuel Chukwueze, Victor Osimhen and Kelechi Iheanacho.

The match is scheduled to take place on Saturday at the Charles De Gaulles Stadium, Porto Novo, Benin Republic, by 5.00pm (Nigerian time).
