Nigerians in Israel today, gathered in Jerusalem to pray for God’s intervention in the affairs of the country.

The event was christened, “Prayer convocation for Nigeria in Jerusalem” had as theme, “The Church and the glory of Nigeria.”

Prof. Isaiah Issong, in a sermon, stated that Nigerians who were in Israel, especially, those who were on pilgrimage should know that with their prayers, God will turn things around for Nigeria.

“You and I have been asked to represent Nigeria; Nigeria is at a crossroad, it is pitiable now and the only country I have, the only country you have needs prayers now.

“You and I are so heavily indebted to the God of heaven; when Nigeria was Nigeria, you could keep your doors open all through the night without fear; when Nigeria was Nigeria, there were no armed robbery, but now, even as a Commissioner, you will have a sub-police station by the gate.

“Nigeria needs our prayers and if you and I humble ourselves to see the rotteness of our country, we will go on our knees to take our governments and our Governors to God because, God will heal our country,” Prof. Issong said.

He continued, “remember, what you bound on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven; open your hearts and present our country to the Lord in this Holy Land.

“You are representing the largest and most populous black nation in the whole world and God will answer Nigeria today.”

Acting Executive Secretary, Nigeria Christian Pilgrimage Commission (NCPC), Mrs Esther Kwaghe, in an address, said, “if there is a generation that needs to seek God, it is ours; if there is a time we need God in our lives and national affairs, it is now; the need and urgency to pray for our nation cannot be over-emphasised.

“Pilgrimage provides us a platform to seek and meet God personally as we cannot with the physical realities of the things we heard and read in the word of God, the Bible; this in turn deepens our faith, love for God and service to our country; it is also for God and service to our country; it is also a time to reposition the destiny of our nation through prayers.”

Different prayer points, especially God’s intervention were made at the event which was also, attended by Pilgrims from Delta, Enugu, Imo and Lagos States.
