Nollywood actress, Omotola opens up about health battle, recovery

Veteran Nollywood actress, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, has opened up about the impact of her recent emergency surgery, revealing that it left scars on her stomach.
In November 2024, the movie star disclosed her battle with a life-threatening illness, which led to an urgent gallbladder removal procedure.
Reflecting on the experience in an Instagram post on Saturday, Omotola shared how the surgery affected one of her favorite physical features—her stomach. She admitted that while it is no longer as flawless as before, she remains confident and unshaken.
“Late last year, I had emergency surgery. My tummy used to be one of the best parts of my body, but it’s not so perfect now,” she wrote. “During this shoot, I absentmindedly grabbed my top, and a little voice said, ‘There’s nothing to show anymore.’ Not me! Nothing can shake my confidence. I smiled and danced. I’m alive, and it’s just scars. Some people have physical scars, others have emotional ones.”
Meanwhile, Omotola also addressed concerns about her family’s safety amid the ongoing wildfires in Los Angeles.
Expressing gratitude to her fans for their concern, she reassured them via Instagram that she and her family are safe. She emphasized that their decision to stay in Los Angeles was not influenced by the wildfires and that they remain unharmed.
