Nothing can stop Gov Alia’s re-election in 2027, not even the entire nation – Angbo Kennedy boasts
A member of the Benue State House of Assembly, Hon. Kennedy Angbo, has defended his recent comment that he will not back any Idoma aspirant for the governorship of Benue State in the 2027 general election.
Angbo, who represents Otukpo/Akpa State Constituency, said the agitation by the people of Benue South Senatorial District for the state’s top political position should be deferred until 2031, insisting that the present political arrangement must be respected.
His stance has sparked backlash from many who have accused him of betraying his people on the altar of party politics.
However, in an interview with EbonyNaija, the lawmaker said Idoma people are not prepared to govern the state yet.
He said that, judging by the facts on ground, there is nobody under the sun who can stop Governor Hyacinth Alia’s re-election as Benue governor in 2027.
He said, “I’m saying that the facts on ground speak to the fact that nothing can stop the governor. Not even one single person from Zone A or Zone B; the entire nation cannot stop the governor. And I’m saying that with all sense of humility and all sense of genuineness, speaking from a place of assessing the level of things on ground. So essentially, that is the crux of this matter.
“But people are trying to deride me by saying that Angbo does not believe in the Zone C agenda. The truth is that they are only trying to divert attention from the real issue on ground.”
