NPFL: Katsina United part ways with head coach

Usman Abdallah has bid farewell to his role as the head coach of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side, Katsina United. This departure comes as the culmination of his tenure with the Chanji Boys, a stint that witnessed their NPFL promotion in a remarkable performance in Asaba just last month.

The club’s management has reached the decision not to extend Abdallah’s contract, resulting in his exit from the team. Despite his successes with the club, the path forward diverges as Katsina United looks to chart a new course under fresh leadership.

Abdallah, a multifaceted figure in Nigerian football and also one of the assistant coaches to Super Eagles’ manager Jose Peseiro, assumed the role of head coach in May of the previous year. The seasoned 49-year-old had previously held managerial positions at Kano Pillars and Enyimba, showcasing his extensive experience in the realm of Nigerian football.

With the new NPFL season scheduled to commence on August 26, Katsina United is on the cusp of a significant transition as they embark on the quest for success with a new coaching appointment looming on the horizon.
