Oche reclaims LG farm lands, confident Ado will lead Benue agriculture revolution

Ado Local Government Executive Chairman, James Oche has begun reclaiming local government farm lands in the custody of individuals preparatory to the mechanized farming his administration intends to kick start.

He has also said Ado will be in the front line of Benue local governments who will key into and sustain with great commitment, the agricultural transformation agenda of the Ortom administration of the state especially now that the local government has taken custody of the tractor graciously availed by the Governor.

Oche who made the decision known earlier within the week while inspecting local government farmlands in Igumale lamented that, due to inability of the local government to utilize the farmlands, private individuals were encroaching on and utilizing same for various proposes.

He however intimated that, his administration had finalized plans on how to utilize all the government farmlands in Ado for agricultural purposes with a view to maximizing the IGR, enhancing food security and also generating employment opportunities for the people.

Oche who was accompanied by some members of his Executive Council and aides took custody of the local government farmland in Igumale and further sent words to those who were using the other farmlands in other areas to desist forthwith after harvesting whatever they may have planted.
