The Chairman of the Ogbadibo Local Government Football Association, Ameh Godwin, has congratulated Akor Jerome Adams on his invitation to the Super Eagles and his outstanding debut goal for Nigeria.

Akor made his senior debut for Nigeria on Friday, October 10, 2025, in a 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifier against Lesotho at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane, South Africa.

The 25-year-old striker, who came on as a second-half substitute, made an instant impact in the 80th minute to slot home a pass from Victor Osimhen and seal a 2–1 victory for the Super Eagles.

In his message, Ameh described Akor’s achievement as “a proud moment for Ogbadibo, Idoma land, and the entire nation,” noting that the young striker’s success is an inspiration to local talents who dream of reaching the global stage.

“Akor’s goal on his debut is just the beginning. I urge him to stay humble, focused and hungry for more. He has so much more to offer Nigeria,” Ameh said.

He encouraged Akor to surpass the records set by his illustrious kinsman, Daniel Amokachi, who netted 13 goals for the Super Eagles in 44 appearances, and to emulate his discipline, passion and commitment to the game.

Ameh further prayed for continued success for the striker, urging him to keep the fire burning and make Idoma land proud.

Akor Adams, who hails from Odoba in Otukpa, Ogbadibo LGA, currently plays for Sevilla FC of Spain.
