Oshoba signs with Jake Paul’s most valuable promotions
Nigerian boxing standout Elizabeth Oshoba has signed a promotional agreement with Most Valuable Promotions (MVP), the boxing management company founded by American social media personality and professional boxer, Jake Paul.
Currently holding the WBC Silver and IBO International Featherweight titles, Oshoba joins MVP’s expanding lineup of top-tier female boxers, which includes unified super bantamweight champion Ellie Scotney, IBF bantamweight champion Shurretta Metcalf, and interim WBA super featherweight champion Jennifer Miranda.
Oshoba recently improved her professional record to 9 wins with no losses or draws following a commanding points victory over Lenka Volejnikova of the Czech Republic at York Hall in London. Her consistent performances have drawn international attention and positioned her as a rising force in the sport.
At just 25 years old, Oshoba made history in 2024 by becoming the first Nigerian female boxer to capture a world title. She is currently ranked 10th in the WBA featherweight rankings and fourth in the super lightweight division.
Her amateur achievements include a bronze medal at the 2019 African Games and a silver medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, accolades that laid the foundation for her professional career.
Following her latest win, Oshoba said; “Every fight is a step towards greatness. This wasn’t just about winning, but also about improving on my technique and showing my versatility in the ring.”
The partnership with MVP is expected to enhance Oshoba’s global profile, as the promotion continues to elevate its female fighters on prominent stages.
Speculation indicates Oshoba may feature on the undercard of the highly anticipated third bout between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano, set for July 11 at Madison Square Garden in New York, with live broadcast rights secured by Netflix.
Since turning professional, Oshoba has captured both the IBO female super featherweight and WBC Silver featherweight titles, the latter earned with a 10th-round knockout of Italy’s Michela Braga at Copenhagen’s Royal Arena.
With MVP’s support, Oshoba is poised to move closer to her ambition of becoming the world’s top-ranked female boxer.
