Our refinery’s petroleum products are not inferior — Dangote replies Nigerian govt
Aliko Dangote, owner of Dangote Refinery, has dismissed a statement by the Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), Farouk Ahmed, who claimed that petroleum products from Dangote Refinery are inferior to imported ones.
Africa’s richest man, Dangote, made this clarification on Saturday during a tour of the facility by the leadership of the House of Representatives, led by Speaker Tajudeen Abbas.
Dangote argued that independent checks would yield different results from those of the NMDPRA. He emphasized that the specifications of petroleum products tested by the regulator were based on imported samples.
“The imported products they are encouraging are the spec in test, but in certain cases, when you check independently, different results will show. Those people who have the lab have been told what to write,” he said.
