Prophet Adegoke Jeremiah, also known as “Billion Dollars Prophet,” based in Ekiti State, has demanded N20 million from Damilola Adeparusi, popularly known as Chef Dammy, for defamation of character.
Chef Dammy had accused Prophet Jeremiah of harassment and threats on her Instagram page, claiming it had been ongoing since her cook-a-thon in June 2023.
In a letter dated October 23, 2023, sent by Prophet Jeremiah’s lawyers, Busayo Sule & Co. Legal Practitioners, they demanded that Chef Dammy retract her “libelous” statement made on social media and pay N20 million in damages.
The letter stated that she has seven days from the date of service to comply with their demands, and if she fails to do so, they will take legal action.
A representative of Busayo Sule & Co. Legal Practitioners confirmed the authenticity of the letter but mentioned that it was not intended for public consumption. It was meant as a private document demanding a retraction of Chef Dammy’s statement.
Legal action may be initiated after seven or fourteen days if Chef Dammy does not comply with the demand.
