Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Dr. Paul Enenche, has condemned the recent massacre in Yelewata, Benue State, describing it as both “devastating and heartbreaking.”

Over 300 people were reportedly killed in Saturday’s attack, which has been blamed on suspected herdsmen. The assault has drawn widespread outrage and plunged the affected community into mourning.

Moved by the scale of the tragedy, Dr. Enenche cut short his trip to Kebbi State to visit Yelewata, where he offered prayers, solidarity, and support to survivors and grieving families.

Speaking during his visit, the cleric said, “We were in Europe last week when we received the news. It was very disheartening, painful and devastating. We couldn’t return immediately, but once we got back, we knew we had to come physically.”

He was accompanied by his wife, Dr. Becky Enenche, as they extended their condolences not only to Yelewata but also to other communities in Benue—such as Apa, Agatu, Otukpo, and Gwer West—that have recently endured similar violent attacks.

“We came here to assess the situation on ground, to commiserate with the people, and to bring a message of peace and love from God,” he said. “We believe this situation cannot continue. Whatever the leadership of our land must do, it should be done to bring lasting peace to Benue State.”

Dr. Enenche urged both state and federal authorities to take urgent, meaningful steps to end the cycle of violence in the region and ensure that lives and livelihoods are protected.
