The National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Felix Morka, has clarified that payments made for expression of interest and nomination forms for party positions are generally non-refundable.

Speaking on Friday during The Morning Show on Arise Television, Morka emphasized that aspirants are expected to understand the requirements and eligibility for the offices they intend to contest before making any payments.

He explained that the party assumes applicants are aware of the relevant constituencies tied to the positions and the criteria for eligibility.

However, Morka acknowledged that, in exceptional cases, the party has previously approved refunds. While refunds are not standard practice, individuals affected can submit formal requests, which the party considers on a case-by-case basis.

He stated: “Ordinarily, payments for expression of interest and nomination forms are not refundable. These fees are paid because the party presumes that applicants know the positions they are applying for.

“If someone applies for a position outside their constituency, that responsibility rests with them.

“Nevertheless, there have been instances in our party’s history where refunds were issued under special circumstances. So, I don’t rule out the possibility; if an individual formally requests a refund, it will be given due consideration by the party.”
