EFCC officials storm PDP primary venue in Abuja

Officials of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC, allegedly stormed People Democratic Party, PDP primary venue amidst dollar rain.

According to the report, the anti-graft agency stormed the ongoing convention of the party in Abuja to monitor how money are spent.

 

Delegates to get N30m each

Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, are currently jostling for the sole presidential ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party in Abuja.The battle is now whose pocket is fatter as delegates decide who picks the crucial presidential ticket today.

SaharaReporters learnt that each delegate at the special convention had been given over $50,000 bribe to sway their votes in favour of particular aspirants.

No fewer than 811 delegates are expected to decide the fate of the PDP presidential aspirants in the ongoing convention.

PDP National Convention: Accreditation of delegates commences

The accreditation of national delegates for the 2022 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Convention has commenced at Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that delegates from different states of the federation are arriving the venue for accreditation.

Delegates are being accredited simultaneously state by state using the six geopolitical zones.

NAN reports that the delegates are being accredited with their means of identification which include driver licence, INEC Permanent Voter Cards, National Identify Cards on the list on delegates provided by the party.

As at the time of filing this report, Delta, Bayelsa, Akwa-Ibom, Kogi, Benue, Niger, Abia, Anambra have finished their accreditation.

Other states going on with their accreditations are: Adamawa, Sokoto, Nasarawa and Ebonyi

Oyo, Lagos and Ondo states arere already at the venue waiting for their accreditation.

NAN reports that Chairman of the PDP Special Convention, Sen. David Mark and Governors of Bayelsa, Duoye Diri his Delta counterpart, Ifeanyi Okowa, with other members of the convention committee visited various accreditation points to inspect the process.

All is set for the presidential primary of the Peoples Democratic Party at the MKO Abiola stadium.

Fourteen aspirants will go head to head at the primary election in the race to emerge as the presidential candidate of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2023

Their fate will be decided by 810 delegates who have converged in Abuja.

Delegates and supporters of presidential hopefuls of the PDP are converging at the venue of the party’s presidential primary election in Abuja.

Security operatives are on the ground to maintain law and order.

The race is between, former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, former Senate President and ex-Governor of Kwara State, Bukola Saraki, former Senate President/SSG, Anyim Pius Anyim, Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, Sokoto State Governor and ex-Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal, Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, Akwa Ibom State Governor, Emmanuel Udom, former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose, media Entrepreneur, Dele Momodu, pharmacist, Sam Ohabunwa, Olivia Mariela, Lawyer, Charles Okwudili, Chikwendu Kalu, Cosmos Ndukwe
