Police arrest robbery suspect, seize weapons in Delta
The Delta State Police Command has arrested a 40-year-old robbery and kidnap suspect in Agbarho, Ughelli North Local Government Area.
The Command’s spokesperson, SP Bright Edafe, disclosed this on Wednesday in Warri, stating that the suspect was apprehended last Friday by operatives of the Agbarho Division based on a public tip-off.
Acting on the intelligence, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Agbarho mobilized his team to raid the suspect’s residence. During the operation, officers executed a search warrant and recovered a G3 rifle, a pump-action gun, and a cutlass hidden in the roof of the suspect’s one-room apartment.
The suspect is currently in custody as investigations continue.
SP Edafe noted that the Commissioner of Police, Olufemi Abaniwonda, praised the public for their cooperation and encouraged them to keep providing credible information to combat crime in the state. He reassured residents of the Command’s commitment to maintaining safety and security across Delta State.
