Successful candidates from the 2024 police constable recruitment exercise are set to begin their training at various police colleges across the country on August 10.

This update comes from the Police Service Commission.

In a statement issued on Thursday, Ikechukwu Ani, the Commission’s Head of Press and Public Relations, clarified that only candidates who confirmed their status on the updated Police Recruitment Portal are expected to report for training.

Ani detailed that the training period will run from August 10 to August 20. Candidates’ names have been sent to the college management, and only those on the list will be admitted. He emphasized that the previous portal has been deactivated following a decision made in consultation with police management to ensure fairness and inclusivity.

For candidates invited to begin training between September 28 and October 10, 2024, messages are currently being sent. Ani stressed that only those who receive official invitations or are listed on the current portal will be allowed to train.

The Commission, under the guidance of PSC Chairman, DIG Hashimu Argungu (retd.), will monitor the candidates’ progress throughout their training. Dr. Argungu urged candidates to adhere strictly to the reporting dates and committed to providing a supportive environment to help them excel.

He congratulated the successful candidates and encouraged them to fully commit to their training, preparing them to tackle the challenges ahead and contribute effectively to national security.
