Police recruitment shortlisted candidates: See why you can’t access PSC portal
It is no longer news that the Police Service Commission has announced the approval and release of a list of 10,000 successful applicants for recruitment into the constable and specialist cadres of the Nigeria Police Force.
However, many candidates are finding it difficult to access the portal of the commission to know if they made it.
IDOMA VOICE observed that the website of the commission, www.psc.gov.ng is currently offline.
This is due to the high traffic on the site.
A check on the website Tuesday afternoon shows that the only message on the homepage of the portal shows, 502 Bad Gateway nginx
“502 Bad Gateway” is an HTTP status code indicating that the server acting as a gateway (usually a reverse proxy or load balancer) received an invalid response from the upstream server.
Nginx (pronounced “engine-x”) is a popular web server software that often serves as a reverse proxy or load balancer.
When you see “502 Bad Gateway – nginx” in your browser, it typically means that:
– The web server (nginx) acted as a gateway to a backend server.
– The backend server returned an invalid or malformed response.
– Nginx couldn’t process the response and returned a 502 error instead.
Common causes include:
– Server overload or high latency
– Misconfigured backend servers
– Network connectivity issues
– Server maintenance or downtime
