The Commissioner of Police, Benue State Command, CP Emenari Ifeanyi, PhD, psc, mnips, has reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to restoring peace in the state, particularly in areas affected by the ongoing herder-farmer conflict.

The CP gave this assurance during a briefing with Tactical Commanders deployed to Yogbo in Guma Local Government Area, following an incident on June 2, 2025, at about 3:00 p.m., where cattle rustlers reportedly struck.

He directed the Area Commander, Makurdi, and the Divisional Police Officer, Daudu, to work closely with the Tactical Commanders to ensure the safety of lives and property while investigations continue.

CP Emenari also issued a stern warning against mob actions, describing them as cruel, uncivilized, and a hindrance to law enforcement efforts. He stressed that anyone caught engaging in such acts would face the full weight of the law.

He called on residents to remain law-abiding and continue partnering with the police in identifying and isolating criminal elements responsible for violence in the state.
