Portable begs Tinubu, Abiodun for intervention in Ogun legal battle

Controversial singer Portable has appealed to President Bola Tinubu for help in his ongoing legal troubles with the Ogun State government.

The dispute began after Portable allegedly assaulted officials from the Ogun State Planning and Development Permit Authority (OGPDPA) when they attempted to seal his bar over permit violations and insufficient air space.

The altercation led to the arrest and arraignment of nine of his associates on charges including armed violence, felony, obstruction, assault, and intent to kill. They were granted bail at N5 million each, with sureties required to be licensed bond agents registered with the state government. The case has been adjourned to March 17.

In a series of Instagram stories, Portable expressed remorse and pleaded with Governor Dapo Abiodun for forgiveness while urging President Tinubu to intervene.

“After God na government. President Tinubu, you will not weep over your children. Help me beg Dapo Abiodun to forgive me,” he sang.

Denies Assault Allegations

Despite his plea, Portable, who is reportedly evading arrest, denied attacking OGPDPA officials.

“I was set up with the ministry. My boys and I did not fight them. Please release them,” he claimed.

The Ogun State government condemned the attack, calling it “bizarre and a disgrace to the state.” It labeled Portable a “serial dissident and unrepentant rascal” known for assaulting government officials.

Governor Abiodun reaffirmed that anyone guilty of attacking government workers would face legal consequences.
