Salah signs new two-year deal with Liverpool, ending transfer speculation

Mohamed Salah has ended months of speculation surrounding his future by signing a new two-year contract with Premier League leaders Liverpool on Friday.
The 32-year-old Egyptian forward has been a pivotal figure at Anfield since his arrival from AS Roma in 2017, amassing 243 goals in 394 appearances to become the club’s third all-time leading goalscorer.
During his illustrious stint with the Reds, Salah has helped deliver both the UEFA Champions League and Premier League titles, and he now stands on the cusp of guiding Liverpool to a record-equalling 20th English top-flight crown.
This season, Salah has been in stellar form, contributing 27 goals and 17 assists in the Premier League, helping Arne Slot’s men establish an 11-point lead with seven matches left in the campaign.
“Of course I’m very excited. We have a great team now. Before also we had a great team. But I signed because I think we have a chance to win other trophies,” Salah said in a club statement.
“It’s great, I had my best years here. I played eight years, hopefully it’s going to be 10. Enjoying my life here, enjoying my football. I had the best years in my career.”
